We are a Gathered People, not a church... We are not called OUT
of the world, rather, we are gathered together IN the world for strength and mutual support as we meet and conquer
the challenges we face daily as individuals and families. It is through the intimate sharing of these
small clusters that REAL ministry and personal, spiritual growth can take place, and we can find special
relationships that make a genuine difference in our lives!
We are a part of the Body of Christ... We affirm the same central
tenets of the Christian faith that have been affirmed for centuries. The Bible is our source for truth
about God and our need for wholeness.
As such, we are a part of the Church Universal... We are, as
faithful Christians, one with all those who share in the Communion of Christ and accept the declaration that He is
"the way, the truth, and the life."
We are an Evangelical Fellowship... We believe something is at
stake in the message of God's love in Jesus Chrst and we invite all to explore that message with us. That is why we
proclaim the GOOD NEWS that a relationship with Jesus sets us free for real living and makes an eternal
difference!
We are a Charismatic Congregation... We accept and are open to
all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as God provides them to us in our times of need. We seek to walk in complete
trust -- seeeking the vision and direction and power of God. We do not trust in any person, denomination or group
-- just in Jesus Christ Himself.
We are a Free Congregation... We believe that the best way to
govern a local church is locally, at the leading of the Holy Spirit. We are not governed by any body other than our
local congregation. We believe that when a fellowship is free from outside agendas, Jesus Christ is free to be Lord
of that church.
We are a Bible-believing Congregation... We believe that the most
important thing to study is the Word of God found in the Holy Scriptures. In general, we are Wesleyan in our
interpretations, following the theology and insights of John Wesley.
We emphasize Participation, rather than membership... In fact, we
have no membership! We are free to focus on the Commission of our Lord to make disciples of Jesus -- not
members.
We are focused in our Ministry... We don't claim to be all things
to all people. As God has called us together, we are committed to our Lord and to one another. We are called to do
a few things well for Christ -- not all things.
People from many church backgrounds and memberships are active at FCC. We rejoice simply to
welcome those who seek to know Him more closely. We care for all people who come our way regardless of church
membership or religious background, because our greatest concern is YOU!
